What we order the most through Azure Standard

And why!

I have been using Azure standard for about five years now and finding it has been a game changer. I am not a prepper, I just like to have a good amount of food on hand because we have a lot of people in our house. And lets be honest, knowing how our food supply can easily be manipulated is terrifying to say the least. But that aside, lets jump into why Azure is different, how it is run, and what I order!

The method of ordering through Azure Standard is a little different. However, the entire idea of Azure Standard is a little different as well. I’ll start from the beginning, Azure Standard is owned and operated by a loving family who wants the best for everyone with the best quality standards. They have standards that most other companies don’t and they have rigorous ideals that these vendors must go through to make sure that they can be sold on their site.

When you order from Azure Standard there is a cut off date for your location, and that depends on your drop zone. So as long as you have your order in by the cut off, you will get your delivery by the date mentioned. However, if you don’t get your order in on time, you will have to wait for the next month’s delivery. Shipping and delivery is a percentage of the amount that you spent on your order. To find your drop, you have a list of drop zones in your area that you can pick from, and you pick the closest or most convenient to you. Mine is about 15 minutes away and after you get that order in, he will get an email from your drop coordinator, depending on your coordinator you may get a more detailed like mine or less. I don’t know what others have experienced however they will give you explanation on when the trailer is supposed to arrive. Yes, all of your orders will arrive in a semi truck and you as a team unload the truck and repackage and set out for those who can’t make it. I don’t usually have time and they actually are job coordinator asks that just a tiny amount of people come since this isn’t usually a parking lot. It is his driveway with limited turnaround abilities so you will get an email with the date and time of your drop you do have to make sure you get there if it’s raining I’ve had packages rained on, however it was my fault for not getting there earlier, but sometimes it gets dropped off at 11 AM when I’m in the middle of a work meeting and so you have to do what you can with what you have so with that being said here are some of the main items that I order on repeat and why

1. Wheat berries I order soft white and hard white wheat berries. I have recently started getting Kamut or Corazon. I try to make at least a quarter of all of my baked goods with fresh milk wheat for the health benefits of it and as far as I can find as your standard has the best price per pound, and they also offer heirloom in heritage grains. Now I’ve had heritage greens. I’ve tried to order heritage greens. Many times they get sold out before I can even order them so once I get those, I will let you know how they are soft white we can be used in baking pastries, like pancakes, cookies, cakes, etc. hard white we can be used for bread and pastries although recently there was an issue with their hard white wheat. I think that they have since rectified the issues. I just have to make my way through my hard, white wheat by adding extra gluten to my breads when I use it next is what I buy in bulk is avocado oil

2. Avocado Oil. I’ll avocado oil I use avocado oil and all of my baking where it calls for canola oil. I find it fresher and more healthier and it also I also use it in place of olive oil as it has a very little flavor if any flavor very light. It also has a very high smoke point, so if I want to sear a steak on high heat, I can put that on there without running the risk of smoking out my house. I also use it in all of my waffles and pancake recipe recipes that you may see me making all of the time, and the price per gallon is an incredible cost savings from what you get at the store. Plus there has been research found that now most avocado oil you find the store doesn’t even contain avocado oil.

3. Collagen peptides. Another thing I order from Azure Standard a lot is Collagen. The cost per ounce and or pound for the ones that I get here is a significant decreased than what I can find anywhere else. There are some brands on Amazon that I really like however, I do enjoy this one the best and a 2 pound bag can last us for quite some time without having to refresh it dissolves quickly and easily, and it leaves no flavor in my coffee and sometimes teas.

4. Number four this is a weird one that is rice vinegar. I use a lot of rice vinegar in my cooking. I have found a recipes that I love and it uses a lot of rice vinegar so why not buy it in bulk by the gallon and save some money. that’s really are there is to that.

5. Spices and seeds.I get a lot of of my spices here like cayenne pepper. I get garlic powder sometimes, the prices are good and once again, I trust the background of this company to give me quality food. I also get a lot of sesame seed from there and I also get dates there. You can buy 5 pound bag of dates and they will last you a very long time.

6. Organic sugars and flour now I know I said that I use fresh milled wheat in lot of my baked goods, however there is a time when it’s just significantly easier and the recipe is much better when just using plain white flour. This is what I use when I’m cooking a cookies for my neighbors who don’t really like the fresh milled flavor. Or if I just don’t want to get out my my mill which weighs about 45 pounds.

Next up is the sugars, I have been getting organic sugar from here for a while. I had an issue once where the sugar was course and than I thought and it’s a very long time for it to break it down. They have since then rectified the situation and now all of my sugar is fine when I order fine sugar. I do a lot of baking so I use I buy a 25 pound bag of sugar from Azure Standard. Also along with white sugar is maple sugar. I like to use this a lot when I’m baking for my family because we like the flavor to use maple sugar in place of even organic white cane sugar. There are health benefits to using maple sugar, and I like the flavor of it. It gives it even more intense flavor when using chocolate cocoa powder, cinnamon, etc., and especially in fall baking Just try it out you’ll thank me later.
